This book gave me some Red Queen vibes. We start with a poor FMC living in squalor, but she is fairly happy. When her mother disappears, she starts to question things around her. She fills in for her mother as a healer at the royal palace. She then develops a relationship with the prince.
Lots of will-they-won’t-they? Can they bridge the gap between mortal and magical? Loved the world-building, it is a slow burn but worth it. This is the first book of this 4 book series. I am very excited to keep reading and see where Diem will go!
